Rutland Parks & Gardens
Ascutney State Park offers picnic areas, 39 wooded tent or trailer sites, 10 lean-to sites, extensive hiking trails, a scenic auto toll road, panoramic views and a hang-glider launch site. This park has self guided tours with maps available at each parking area.
Moosalamoo is one of Vermont's best for all who enjoy quality outdoor adventure. The region is best known for its lakes and mountains, hiking trails and wildlife but lodging accommodation, museums, restaurants, artisan shops and a wide variety of activities are also available.
Spanning more than 400,000 acres, this is Vermont's largest protected park. It is home to a variety of species including beavers, moose, black bears and white-tailed deers. It is a popular recreation destination and is widely used for hiking, mountain biking, hunting, camping, horse riding and more.
